    2018 Lexus LC 500

Hi, longtime no post, lol. I just bought a new to me 2018 Lexus LC 500. It has some on that self healing paint that actually looks like it has been doing a decent job, but you know us retailers we can’t leave well enough alone. Has anyone detailed one of these cars with the self healing paint and what did you do to improve the paint? Does applying a coating over the paint do any harm? Any help is appreciated.

I'd love to throw my two cents in here but I've never (knowingly) done a "self-healing" painted car?!?!

It seems there is not a lot of knowledge out there about “self healing” paints. The owners manual says it lasts 5-8 years and not to use any abrasives (even abrasive waxes) on the paint. I just wonder what the heck you are supposed to do if there is a scratch that doesn’t “heal”. Oh well, the search for knowledge goes on!
